Patricia Shih will be the featured performer at the NorthShore Original Open Mic (NOOM) on Wednesday, July 30. Patricia will be accompanied by her husband, guitarist and bassist Stephen Fricker. Co-presented by the Cinema Arts Centre and the Folk Music Society of Huntington in the Cinema’s Sky Room (423 Park Avenue, Huntington), the open mic runs from 7-10 p.m., with a featured artist performing a 30-minute set beginning around 8:30 p.m.  Sign-up starts at 6:15 p.m.  Although NOOM is free to attend, donations will be gratefully accepted.  The event will also be livestreamed via the Northshore Original Open Mic Facebook group.

The Grateful Dead Movie — 2025 Meet-Up

On Thursday, August 14, at 7:30pm and Saturday, August 16, at 2pm, the Cinema Arts Centre (423 Park Avenue, Huntington) will host The Grateful Dead Movie -- 2025 Meet-Up. Tickets are $18 ($12 for Cinema Arts Centre members).

Following the screening of a dozen short film and video clips featuring Bob Dylan on stage and in the studio, FMSH President Michael Kornfeld will engage in an on-stage conversation with Bob Dylan Center Director Steven Jenkins. Singer-Songwriter Laura Cantrell will perform a couple of songs.

Hard Luck Café: Joe Crookston

Joe Crookston, a widely acclaimed singer-songwriter and guitarist based in Ithaca, New York, returns to Long Island on Wednesday, September 17 to open the 2025-2026 season of the monthly Hard Luck Café concert season. Co-presented by the Folk Music Society of Huntington and the Cinema Arts Centre (423 Park Avenue, Huntington, NY, 631-423-7610), the concert takes place in the Cinema’s Sky Room from 7pm-10pm.  An open mic, for which sign-up begins at 6:30pm, precedes the 8pm concert.  Tickets are $32 ($25 for Cinema Arts Centre/FMSH members) and may be purchased online at cinemaartscentre.org or at the box office through the evening of the show.

Kirsten Maxwell (kirstenmaxwell.com), a multifaceted singer-songwriter who has been earning accolades and winning over audiences across the country, returns to her hometown for the 2025-2026 season of Hard Luck Café concerts co-presented by the Folk Music Society of Huntington and the Cinema Arts Centre (423 Park Avenue, Huntington,  NY) in the Cinema’s Sky Room on Wednesday, October 15, from 7pm-10pm.  An open mic, for which sign-up is at 6:30pm, precedes the concert.  Tickets are $25 ($20 for Cinema Arts Centre/FMSH members) and can be purchased online at cinemaartscentre.org or at the box office now through the evening of the event.
