NorthShore Original Open Mic (NOOM) in the Sky Room at Huntington’s Cinema Arts Centre
Dirty Rails will be the featured performer at the NorthShore Original Open Mic (NOOM) on Wednesday, April 30. Co-presented by the Cinema Arts Centre and the Folk Music Society of Huntington in the Cinema’s Sky Room (423 Park Avenue, Huntington), the open mic runs from 7-10 p.m., with a featured artist performing a 30-minute set beginning around 8:30 p.m. Sign-up starts at 6:30 p.m. Although NOOM is free to attend, donations will be gratefully accepted. The event will also be livestreamed via the Northshore Original Open Mic Facebook group.
Janis Ian — Breaking Silence
On Saturday, May 3 at 4pm and Tuesday, May 6 at 4pm, the Cinema Arts Centre (423 Park Avenue, Huntington, NY) will present the award-winning documentary, Janis Ian: Breaking Silence. The film is presented as part of the Long Island Jewish Film Festival, curated by David Schwartz, Curator at Large at the Museum of the Moving Image. Tickets are $16 ($10 for Cinema Arts Centre members).
FMSH Folk Jam & Sing-Along
The Folk Music Society of Huntington’s monthly Folk Jam & Sing-Along will take place on May 11 at the South Huntington Public Library (145 Pidgeon Hill Road, Huntington Station) from 1-4 p.m. This free Sunday afternoon event affords musicians and singers of all experience levels an opportunity to play, sing, and hone their performance skills in a supportive and welcoming environment.
Hard Luck Café: Jesse Terry
Jesse Terry will take the stage during the monthly Hard Luck Café concert series co-presented by the Folk Music Society of Huntington and the Cinema Arts Centre (423 Park Avenue, Huntington) in the Cinema’s Sky Room on Wednesday, May 21, from 7pm-10pm. An open mic, for which sign-up is at 6:30pm, precedes the concert. Additional information to follow.

Falcon Ridge Folk Festival “Most Wanted” Emerging Artists Preview Tour: Louie Lou Louis, Alex Radus and Tina Ross will share the stage and swap during the monthly Hard Luck Café concert series co-presented by the Folk Music Society of Huntington and the Cinema Arts Centre (423 Park Avenue, Huntington) in the Cinema’s Sky Room on Wednesday, June 18, from 7pm-10pm. An open mic, for which sign-up is at 6:30pm, precedes the concert. Tickets are $25 ($20 for Cinema Arts Centre/FMSH members) and may be purchased online at cinemaartscentre.org or at the box office through the evening of the show. Additional information to follow.
