Hard Luck Café: Pat Wictor

Slide guitarist / singer-songwriter Pat Wictor will take the stage for the monthly Hard Luck Café concert co-presented by the Folk Music Society of Huntington and the Cinema Arts Centre (423 Park Avenue, Huntington,  NY) in the Cinema’s Sky Room on Wednesday, November 19, from 7pm-10pm.  Tickets are $25 ($20 for Cinema Arts Centre/FMSH members) and can be purchased online at cinemaartscentre.org or at the box office now through the evening of the event.

“Just Wild About Harry” Chapin Tribute

Port Washington’s Landmark on Main Street will go "Just Wild About Harry" for a third year in a row on Tuesday, December 2, at 7:30pm, as nearly three dozen of Long Island’s top musicians and songwriters will pay tribute to Harry Chapin, the late Grammy-Award-winning singer-songwriter and social activist, on the stage of the Jeanne Rimsky Theater. While this will be a ticketed event, all revenues above the cost of producing the show will be donated to Long Island Cares, the food bank founded by Chapin. A minimum $20 donation per ticket is suggested, although additional donations are greatly appreciated. As always, the performers will be donating their talents. Long Island Cares will also be collecting non-perishable food donations, and selling T-shirts and other merchandise.

Hard Luck Café: A Tribute to Those We’ve Lost

The monthly Hard Luck Café concert series co-presented by the Folk Music Society of Huntington and the Cinema Arts Centre (423 Park Avenue, Huntington) in the Cinema’s Sky Room on Wednesday, January 21, will feature A Tribute to Those We've Lost. In this multimedia production, some 30 Long-Island-based artists will perform songs written or popularized by more than two-dozen notable songwriters and recording artists who left our world over the past year. A few short videos will be screened as well, along with images and audio of the artists we’ve lost. The concert will extend from 7pm-10pm, with a short intermission; there will not be an open mic preceding this month's show. Tickets are $26 ($20 for Cinema Arts Centre/FMSH members) for this benefit for both non-profit organizations, and may be purchased online at cinemaartscentre.org or at the box office through the evening of the show.
