    Joe Crookston, a widely acclaimed singer-songwriter and guitarist based in Ithaca, New York, returns to Long Island on Wednesday, September 17 to open the 2025-2026 season of the monthly Hard Luck Café concert season.   • “Just Wild About Harry” Chapin Tribute

    Port Washington’s Landmark on Main Street will go "Just Wild About Harry" for a third year in a row on Tuesday, December 2, at 7:30pm, as nearly three dozen of Long Island’s top musicians and songwriters will pay tribute to Harry Chapin, the late Grammy-Award-winning singer-songwriter and social activist, on the stage of the Jeanne Rimsky Theater. While this will be a ticketed event, all revenues above the cost of producing the show will be donated to Long Island Cares, the food bank founded by Chapin. A minimum $20 donation per ticket is suggested, although additional donations are greatly appreciated. As always, the performers will be donating their talents. Long Island Cares will also be collecting non-perishable food donations, and selling T-shirts and other merchandise.

    The monthly Hard Luck Café concert series co-presented by the Folk Music Society of Huntington and the Cinema Arts Centre (423 Park Avenue, Huntington) in the Cinema’s Sky Room on Wednesday, January 21, will feature A Tribute to Those We've Lost. In this multimedia production, more than three dozen Long-Island-based artists will perform songs written or popularized by more than two-dozen notable songwriters and recording artists who left our world over the past year. A few short videos will be screened as well, along with images and audio of the artists we’ve lost. The concert will extend from 7pm-10pm, with a short intermission; there will not be an open mic preceding this month's show.
