A pair of Philadelphia-based trios — one all female, the other all male – share the bill
— Ladybird —
Ladybird is a multi-instrumental, harmony-based folk/bluegrass trio hatched on a front porch – with whiskey under one wing and a banjo under another. Drawing on a wide array of influences spanning from the traditional American songbook to Swedish folk and jazz, these ladies (Cecilia Ferneborg, Laura Kay and Sarah Larsen) take to the stage with fiddle, dobro, banjo, guitar, and mandolin — blending their powerful original songs with fresh takes on old folk and bluegrass favorites. — The End of America —
The End of America is a band of friends, singers and travelers who blend three-part harmony with a rock and Americana style that’s sure to resonate with fans of Ryan Adams, CSNY and Dawes. Prior to launching the trio, Brendon Thomas, James Downes and Trevor Leonard all fronted other bands. Although their vocal chemistry also can be heard on their self-entitled debut CD and previously released EPs, the raw honesty of their performances is something to experience live.
