The Honey Badgers (honeybadgerfolk.com) will take the stage during the monthly Hard Luck Café concert series co-presented by the Folk Music Society of Huntington and the Cinema Arts Centre (423 Park Avenue, Huntington) in the Cinema’s Sky Room on Wednesday, April 16, from 7pm-10pm. An open mic, for which sign-up is at 6:30pm, precedes the concert. Tickets are $25 ($20 for Cinema Arts Centre/FMSH members) and may be purchased online at cinemaartscentre.org or at the box office through the evening of the show.
A folk and Americana duo based in Newark, Delaware, The Honey Badgers (Erin Magnin and Michael Schutz Natrin) was named the winner of the Emerging Artist Showcase during the 2024 Susquehanna Folk Festival in York, Pennsylvania last August and was voted the “Most Wanted to Return” act following the Grassy Hill Emerging Artist Showcase at the 2023 Falcon Ridge Folk Festival in Goshen, Connecticut. The Honey Badgers, who released a second full-length album entitled The Earth Turns and So Do We in June 2024, also played the Philadelphia Folk Festival last summer.

The Honey Badgers – whose sound has been likened to that of The Civil Wars and The Swell Season — impress audiences with their intense, sparkling harmonies, honest lyrics and melodies, and undeniable onstage chemistry. Weaving their voices together with Michael’s driving guitar and Erin’s wistful violin, the married duo spins stories and songs about finding yourself, finding each other, and finding your way in the world.
