Acoustic Apple
Steve Angliss and Gary Schoenberger (Acoustic Apple) are musicians who love to cover songs that famous (and not-so-famous) artists have created. Both Steve and Gary are familiar faces at our open mics. Gary is a member of the Folk Music Society’s Board, helps facilitate the monthly Folk Jams at the South Huntington Library and distributes the weekly Long Island Concert Notes. Steve is an active Folk Society volunteer, and often helps set up our sound equipment. Both are regular participants at various Bluegrass and Electric Jams on Long Island. Most of the songs Acoustic Apple covers are Americana, Folk-Rock and Roots, but some Pop, Bluegrass and Bar-Band Rock always manages to sneak into the set-list. Be sure to visit their website “AcousticApple.com” and “Like” their Personal Facebook pages.

Josh Joffen
Josh Joffen sings from the heart. He weaves melody around his rich lyrical poetry, binds it together with expressive (and impressive) guitar work in multiple tunings, adds smooth soothing vocals, and serves it all up to us with a warm dimpled smile. Whether he is using humor, singing a love song to his wife, expressing delight in his beloved tropical island of Antigua, sharing memories of his Greenwich Village past, or exploring his understanding of the strange dichotomies of human nature you immediately understand the deep intelligence of the man who can write songs like this, just as you immediately understand how much he thoroughly enjoys life. Josh doesn’t just sing. He reaches out and embraces his audience, pulling them into his magical world. As a house concert presenter, I can say that it doesn’t get much better than this.” – Arlene Boumel, Boumel House Concerts, Coral Gables, FL

Counterclockwise Ensemble
The Counterclockwise Ensemble is a guitar, strings and percussion quintet that plays contemporary American chamber music. Equally at home in a variety of genres, the group primarily plays the compositions of guitarist Rich Stein, sprinkling in pieces by Holst, Copland, Saint-Saëns and Brahms as well as traditional American and Irish folk tunes into their sets.

The current ensemble includes Rich Stein (guitar), Andrew and Rebecca Perea (orchestral strings), Glen Saunders (double bass) and Jim Mansfield (percussion).
