DESCRIPTION:The Folk Music Society of Huntington is pleased to partner with the Cinema Arts Centre in presenting A Conversation with Josh Chapin\, the son of Harry Chapin\, on Sunday\, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. EST. Dylan Skolnick (the Cinema’s co-director) and Michael Kornfeld (president of FMSH’s board of directors and editor & publisher of AcousticMusicScene.com) will pose questions during this special free online program that coincides with the recent release of Harry Chapin: When in Doubt Do Something\, an acclaimed documentary on the life and impact of the beloved singer-songwriter that is currently screening online.\nSign-up for the free Q & A session with Josh Chapin here: \nCLICK HERE \nAward-winning singer-songwriter Harry Chapin (“Taxi” and “Cats in the Cradle”)\, who lived in Huntington with his family\, spent his fame and fortune chasing a dream to end world hunger and poverty. In the process\, he inspired\, changed\, and saved the lives of millions of people. HARRY CHAPIN: WHEN IN DOUBT\, DO SOMETHING is a vibrant\, music-filled\, energetic\, and rousing appreciation of an artist whose songs are a permanent part of the American lexicon and whose passion for helping others continues to be an inspiration. \nThe film features Bruce Springsteen\, Billy Joel\, Pete Seeger\, Sir Bob Geldof\, Kenny Rogers\, Graham Nash\, Pat Benatar\, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels\, Robert Lamm\, Richie Havens\, and Harry Belafonte intimately reflecting on Chapin’s larger-than-life impact on music and the world including his founding\, along with Bill Ayres\, of WhyHunger – the nonprofit organization leading the movement to end hunger and advance the human right to nutritious food in the U.S. and around the world.
