DESCRIPTION:An Evening with the Bob Dylan Center\nSTEPPING INTO THE UNKNOWN: FILMS FROM THE BOB DYLAN CENTER\nMonday\, September 8th at 7:30pm\nGuest Speaker: Steven Jenkins\, Director of the Bob Dylan Center\, & Singer-Songwriter Laura Cantrell\nTickets:  $26 Public | $20 Members \nA screening of a dozen short film and video clips featuring Bob Dylan on stage and in the studio\, followed by a conversation with Bob Dylan Center Director Steven Jenkins & special guest Laura Cantrell. \n \nBob Dylan Center Director Steven Jenkins \nBob Dylan Center Director Steven Jenkins returns to Cinema Arts Centre following last year’s sold-out event with another batch of rarities. Spanning decades and musical styles\, this far-ranging one-hour program of short films and videos from the Bob Dylan Archive features rare and previously unreleased clips of Dylan on stage and in the studio. Selections include early acoustic versions of “Blowin’ in the Wind” and “Girl from the North Country;” an intense rendition of “Isis” from the Rolling Thunder Review\, with Dylan in face paint; a delicate performance of “Simple Twist of Fate” featuring Scarlet Rivera on violin; The Band backing a swaggering run-through of “Baby Let Me Follow You Down;” a cover of Woody Guthrie’s “Vigilante Man” with Ry Cooder and Van Dyke Parks; a glimpse into the Archive’s film restoration project with never-before-seen footage of “It’s All Over Now\, Baby Blue” from 1966; and many more treasures. \nThis program features a brand-new lineup of films and archival clips. (approx. 100 minutes) \nJenkins will present the films and engage in a post-screening discussion and audience Q&A with FMSH President Michael Kornfeld and special guest Laura Cantrell. \nSinger-songwriter Laura Cantrell has released a string of widely acclaimed albums over her twenty-year career\, including Not The Tremblin’ Kind\, When The Roses Bloom Again and Just Like A Rose: The Anniversary Sessions. She hosts “Dark Horse Radio\,” a program devoted to George Harrison on SiriusXM’s The Beatles Channel\, and curates “States of Country\,” a live series exploring regional diversity in country music.
