Bruce Davies — House Concert

Sunday, May 2, 1999

Winner of the prestigious Edinburgh Folk Club Song Writing competition in 1995, this talented singer-songwriter troubadour entertained us at a special house concert with a brilliant mix of Scottish music, traditional Robert Burns, his own compositions, and great classic folk and pop songs. Bruce's rich baritone voice has an extraordinary range that filled the room and pleasured the ear.

At the party after the concert, he joined in a duet with a operatic soprano guest to serenade and thrill our hostess with a rich rendition of "Happy Birthday" to the delight of all.

Bruce is on tour in America. Like the strolling minstrels of old, Bruce travels around to various venues, bringing his songs, stories and personality — which has been described as an "audio hug" — to audiences in his native Scotland, England, Wales, continental Europe, Africa, and the United States! He is acclaimed in his native Scotland, and his fame is growing here.
