BILL MEEHAN

Fans of singer-songwriter Bill Meehan are well acquainted with his compelling voice which elevated his thoughtful songs to heights not normally encountered in these parts. He cites influences as diverse as Beethoven and Jimi Hendrix on his powerful style, and noted music critic and iconoclast Jamie Yarsky calls Bill the "Lord God King Irish Tenor". He is currently working on a full length CD titled Melody Lake, to complement his EP Word for Word which was available at the concert.

Bill's performance was enjoyed by those who caught him in his Hard Luck debut.

SONNY MEADOWS

Local legend Sonny Meadows made second historic appearance on our Hard Luck stage. Sonny has been called Long Island's most creative topical songwriter and Long Island's version of Tom Waits. His gravelly voice projects wickedly funny or quietly poignant lyrics. His set was alternately funny, warm, thoughtful, funny, moving, exhilarating, and funny — a great time was had by all.

Sonny has been nominated in the Folk category for the First Long Island Music Awards.
