THE WHISPERING TREE
Moody and melodic folk-rock

THE WHISPERING TREE

The Whispering Tree is a husband and wife duo that performs a unique brand of moody and melodic folk-rock. Classically trained vocalist Eleanor Kleiner and French bassist Elie Brangbour “tastily combine wistful folk, mellow rock, and pinches of gypsy jazz and bluegrass into a compelling compilation of tightly written tune.” (Keyboard Magazine review of the 2010 release, Go Call the Captain).

Full of imagery and stories of the human condition, The Whispering Tree’s songwriting is the backbone of its sound and has been heavily influenced by the duo’s travels abroad. The two met at the London Center of Contemporary Music in 2004. With a shared passion for music and travel, they journeyed across continents, logging enough frequent flier miles to make any avid traveler jealous.

Named as first-place winners in the 2010 Songdoor International Songwriting Competition, The Whispering Tree also performed in the Emerging Artists Showcase at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival and under the AcousticMusicScene.com tent at the Huntington Folk Festival last summer.
