Brian Ashley Jones is a soulful singer, an accomplished guitarist, and a versatile Americana songwriter whose compositions have been placed in both film and TV and recorded by other artists.

His songs find influence in the guitar-driven country, blues and bluegrass that he absorbed in his hometown of Spartanburg, South Carolina. Now based in Nashville, Brian performs at festivals, concert series, and radio and TV stations, and leads seminars for music education programs and songwriter groups.

His 2008 release, Courier, made the Top 40 on the Roots Music Report, broke the Top 100 of the Americana Music Association’s album chart, and received widespread radio airplay. As Jack Silverman of Nashville Scene writes, Brian is “an excellent guitarist and thoughtful singer-songwriter.”

Joining him was Tisha Simeral on upright bass.

Praises from others:

  • " excellent guitarist and thoughtful singer-songwriter”
        — Jack Silverman, Nashville Scene

  • "...a master class on how to play the guitar”
        — James Soars, Maverick Magazine, Kent, England

Loretta Hagen is a New Jersey-based singer-songwriter whose musical career spans more than two decades.

Weaving folk, country, rock and blues, she writes songs with strong, catchy melodies and passionate poignant lyrics and delivers them with her rich alto voice. Says WFUV’s John Platt, “She writes songs that sound like they come from the Heartland, but they also really come from the heart.”

Loretta’s latest CD, Sundown Till Dawn, is her most personal to date; its title track is about her mother who suffers with Alzheimer’s disease. This emotionally-charged ballad is included on the soundtrack of 10 Mountains 10 Years, a film that chronicles the journey of a group of mountain climbers who are raising awareness about the disease.

Joining Loretta tonight was her husband/guitarist Gary Hagen, along with Sara Gallmann on harmony vocals.
